Writing a CV may seem challenging, especially if you are starting from scratch. To help you get started we compiled a checklist of everything you should include in your CV for locum tenens jobs.

What Should a Locum Tenens CV Include?

Contact Information

This may seem like a given, but people have mistakenly left this off of their CV. Make sure to include your name, permanent address, phone number(s), and email address. It is also a good idea to list days/times you are available to be contacted by a representative from the agency.

Education

Here you should include the college/university you attended, as well as the degree you earned. Remember to include the dates you attended as well.

Licenses and Certifications

In this section, you will include all active medical licenses and certifications. It is also a good idea to include your license number (this makes it easier for the verification team to confirm your credentials), as well as issue and expiration dates.

Graduate Medical Training

List all internships, residency programs, or fellowships you completed. Remember to include the name of the facility/training program, and dates attended.

Professional Experience

Provide a list of your professional experience chronologically starting from your most recent experience.

Honors and Awards / Publications and Presentations /Memberships and Associations

Including honors and awards, publications and presentations, and memberships or associations you belong to is a great way to set yourself apart from other candidates.

References

You should have at least two professional references. Include their first and last name, job title, facility name, and a phone number or email address to contact them. Most jobs require references, and you can speed up your application process by including them on your CV. However, another option is to provide references upon request.
