Starting a new career in locum tenens can be exciting and intimidating, especially if you decide to work somewhere you do not know anyone. However, working locum tenens is a great way to meet new people and form relationships across the US.  Health Carousel Locum Tenens had the pleasure of speaking with Dr. Lambie after she completed her first locum tenens assignment and she shares how her coworkers became friends.

Health Carousel Locum Tenens: Why did you decide to work locum tenens?

Dr. Lambie: My family moved because of my husband's job, and locum tenens allows me to work from anywhere. I love the flexibility and not having to be committed to something long term.

Health Carousel Locum Tenens: What was is like working with veterans?

Dr. Lambie: It was fulfilling working with veterans because I knew I was taking care of people who served our country. I made a lot of connections with my patients and felt their appreciation for my care.

Health Carousel Locum Tenens: How was your relationship with your coworkers?

Dr. Lambie: The whole group was very welcoming and everybody was very helpful. I think part of it is my personality -- I easily connect with a variety of people, and I was able to interact and be a team player. They were hopeful I would stay so they treated me extra well. Now that my assignment is over, they have been texting me -- we formed a friendship.

Health Carousel Locum Tenens: What has been your experience working with Health Carousel Locum Tenens?

Dr. Lambie: My recruiter was always available. She was very responsive and answered any questions or concerns. It wasn't just my recruiter though; people in payroll and everyone else were very easy to communicate with and provided quick responses. I felt supported.

Health Carousel Locum Tenens: Now that your assignment is over, how are you going to spend your time off?

Dr. Lambie: I am going to go to a medical conference, visit family, and spend time with my 11 year old daughter.
