At Health Carousel Locum Tenens, we love getting to know our providers. Meet Richard Beevers, FNP. Richard has been a locum tenens provider for seven months and works with Indian Health Services.
Health Carousel Locum Tenens: Why did you become a locum tenens provider?
Beevers: I became a locum tenens provider as a change. I was looking for something different and the opportunity to practice outside the state of Oklahoma and Health Carousel Locum Tenens was able to provide that.
Health Carousel Locum Tenens: What do you like about working with Indian Health Services?
Beevers: Working for the Indian Health Services is very interesting. The population is very appreciative of all that we do. I'm enjoying being exposed to the Native American culture and learning about it.
Health Carousel Locum Tenens: Why do you like working with your recruiter and Health Carousel Locum Tenens?
Beevers: Working with Terri Ball (recruiter) and Health Carousel Locum Tenens has been a true joy. They are very responsive to any questions that I have. Anytime I need information or updates they are provided very rapidly. Terri is always available to me as a resource and I really appreciate the work that she does.
Health Carousel Locum Tenens: Do you have a memorable experience with a patient you would like to share?
Beevers: My memorable experience with a patient was back in April or May. There was a young Native American patient who came in and was treated, and as he was leaving, in his native language he was speaking very loud and afterward he translated it and told us that it was a blessing and he was so thankful for us coming and providing services to his people and it was just very touching and eye-opening to be made aware of how grateful this individual was for the service we provided.
